Most people love the house they live in. They struggled to pay for it, grew up in it, and their chilren grew up in it. In any case they love their house, which is now and probably always will be their home. It is a cherished possession, a part of the family. I guess this is why they want a painting or a drawing of their home, to be a part of their family for generations to come.
I have been commissioned to do such a painting on several occasions and have, in most cases, agreed to do the work. The gallery shows some of the houses I worked on and finished.
To undertake a house commission we photograph the house from all angles and do close ups of the finer details. Sometimes, I find it necessary to return to the house several times for finer detail shots. The angle of the house is selected and approved by the owners and the work commences. When the work is completed it is professionally framed and presented to the owner for approval and or corrections. While it is being viewed by the owners I look into their eyes and they tell me how successful we were.
I always hate bringing up prices because my work is never measured in dollars but only in patron satisfaction and happiness. This is why my work is priced low enough to be affordable and to keep me in the pursuit of my passion for the arts. All houses, as you know, are quite different in scope and size so that pricing is difficult. Usually the finished product runs between $250 and $450. The main thing with me, is happiness and satisfaction with the work presented.
